Welcome to Visual Arts I!
Visual Arts I is a beginning high school art course that will help students use the elements and principles of art and design learned in elementary and middle school to become visually literate--understanding the language of art, how art is organized, and how art can be used to communicate. Students will apply creative and critical thinking skills to create their own artwork while solving artistic problems using a variety of tools, media, and processes.
Required Supplies for Art Class:
1. 8.5" x 11" sketchbook
2. Wood #2 Pencils
3. White or pink erasers (kneaded erasers are also wonderful)
4. Crayola or Prismacolor Colored Pencils & handheld pencil sharpener
5. 3-4 Black Sharpie Pens & Fine Point Sharpies
6. 1-1.5" 3-ring binder with 5 tab dividers
